Why do we need your help?

Every week we find more puppies in need of our help on the streets of Turkey.

We are a growing shelter but we can only help a fixed number of dogs at any one time.

Every time a dog finds his or her forever home, we can rescue another who needs our help.  

We rely on donations and sponsorships to feed the dogs, pay vet bills and to contribute to relocation costs.

Your support makes an enormous difference to the lives of our dogs.​​​

Why sponsor one of our dogs?

Melez Dog Rescue is quite unique in that Lisanne spends every day with the dogs. She has looked after them since they arrived at the shelter and, quite often, that's since they were just puppies! She knows each one individually; what makes them tick, what their favourite toy is, who their best friends are.

That's why sponsoring a dog at Melez can be so rewarding. Once you have chosen your dog, the updates, photos, videos you receive will be directly from Lisanne. Each month, you will find out exactly what your dog has been up to, and you'll be inundated with cute photos and videos of your dog. You'll feel like you know him or her as well as Lisanne does!

You will also receive a personalised message from your dog, as well as information from Lisanne on how your money has helped over the course of that month.

 

How does it work?

There are two options! You can choose between sponsoring one of our adoption-ready dogs or sponsoring our shelter. 

 

​Adoption-Ready Dog Sponsorship

• Choose one of our dogs who is already ready for adoption.

• Pay a weekly / monthly subscription of your chosen amount.

• Your money helps with food costs and vet bills for your dog until he or she has found their forever home.

• In return you will receive monthly updates, including photos and videos, from Lisanne about how your dog is getting on.

• Once your dog has been re-homed, you can choose another dog and, if you don't have time to choose, we can choose one for you!

Shelter Sponsorship

• Don't want to pick just one dog to sponsor?

• Choose to sponsor our shelter by paying a weekly / monthly amount of your choice.

• In return you will receive a monthly update from the shelter: new dogs, rehoming stories, photos of visits.

• Sometimes the dogs we take in are in a very bad condition and require vet support and medication.

• Your money will help cover the costs of medications, vaccinations, food and more.​

Since our sponsorship page is still new, we haven't uploaded all of the dogs in the shelter onto the sponsorship page. If you see a dog on the 'available for adoption' page or on our social media pages that you would like to sponsor, please fill out the form at the bottom of our sponsorship page to let us know and we will set you up!

What happens if your dog is adopted?

Great news! Your dog finally found his or her forever home!

If this happens, we will let you know that the adoption process is underway. Sometimes the new owners create social media accounts for their dogs, which we will link you to, should you wish to carry on following their antics.

In this situation, we would love to have your continued support and therefore you will have the option to switch your sponsorship over to a different dog.

Not sure about a long term commitment? You can cancel ANY time by just sending us an e-mail. You can also alter the amount you donate each month by just letting us know.​
