❄ Whiskey's favourite activity: playing tug of war!

This fun, playful, and enthusiastic dog is Whiskey. We've never seen him in a bad mood! Whiskey is always cheerful and fits in very easily and well with Melez pack.

Whiskey came into our care in the summer of 2025 after being rescued from the government shelter. Unfortunately we don't know anything about his past, and whether he had a home before, or whether he grew up as a stray. He ended up in the government shelter in an overcrowded kennel. With government shelters far over capacity as a result of the Massacre Law, there isn't enough food for all the dogs and poor Whiskey and his kennelmates frequently had to go without food. Whiskey lost lots of weight, but never lost his happy spirit. Despite everything, he remained a cheerful boy full of hope that he would be saved. When local rescuers messaged us to ask us to help him, we couldn't turn him down.

Whiskey is very sociable with other dogs. He loves playing and running with them. He's almost always found playing with one of his friends. He gets along well with all dogs and wants to be friends with every dog he meets.

Whiskey is incredibly playful. If he's not playing with other dogs, he's playing with toys. He's very good at entertaining himself.

He's very focused on toys, and when new toys arrive at the shelter, it's a treat for him! He wants to play with them right away, and doesn't want to share with the other dogs.

But once the novelty wears off, he also enjoys playing with toys together with other dogs and playing tug of war until someone wins!

Besides toys, Whiskey is also quite focused on food and can get a little over-excited when treats are being handed out.

He needs to learn to wait calmly for his treat and not immediately snatch it out of your hands.

Because of his focus on food, we think he'll be easy to train. That's a big plus!

With his energetic, enthusiastic nature, we think he'll really enjoy training and brain exercises.

Whiskey is also very friendly towards people and always comes to say "hello" cheerfully. His cheerfulness puts a smile on your face!

He can sometimes be a little over-excited when asking for attention. He might even rush at you (out of enthusiasm). He needs to learn to pace himself when he gets excited.

Whiskey loves going out for walks and really enjoys exploring new places, where he can sniff all the new smells. He is generally well behaved on the lead, although he can sometimes pull out of excitement.

Cats had better hide when Whiskey is out! He's very reactive towards cats, so that needs to be taken into account when walking him. He may have a prey drive.

Whiskey is a fantastic dog who is friendly and sweet with everyone. He has lots of enthusiasm and playful energy and is sure to bring lots of cheerfulness and joy to his new home. He will need a bit of help to learn some manners (such as that it isn't polite to snatch a treat out of someone's hand!), but with some training and guidance, we expect he will adapt to life in a home with ease.

So, are you an active person who enjoys going out with a dog often? Do you have space where a dog can play with his toys? Then you and Whiskey are a great match! He'll be so happy to be living with you!

Whiskey is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/United Kingdom.

Our dogs arrive microchipped, up to date on rabies and combination vaccines, spayed/neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated, and tested for heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania, and Anaplasma.

Before travelling, they see a vet for a final health check. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-rays are taken of any potential problem areas. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated to you beforehand.
