❄ What makes Sol special: his beautiful brown eyes, with which he can give you the sweetest, most loving looks

Sol came into our care in the winter of 2025.

Poor Sol is a tiny little boy who was being attacked by large territorial street dogs when he was found. The group of large dogs had him cornered, and he had no way of defending himself. Luckily, animal lovers spotted them and intervened. Sol most likely had a home before, but was dumped on the streets, and had no idea how to fend for himself and stay safe. We couldn't let Sol live in danger, so we took him in.

Sol is a scared, shy little dog, who most likely has never received any love or affection from his previous owner. We expect that he was used as a guard dog, living outdoors on a farm.

Slowly by surely, Sol started learning that he can trust us and that humans can also be kind and loving.

Sol is our young, gentle, and somewhat shy little friend. Aside from being super sweet, he is also quiet and a bit reserved, but under that shy, quiet exterior lies a cheerful, playful pup.

He doesn't fully trust people yet - if he doesn't know you (yet), he's a bit reserved. So don't expect a jumping dog who'll happily greet visitors the moment they set foot in the doorway. He does approach new people, but needs some time to feel brave enough to interact.

He's very sweet and affectionate with people he does know, but he lacks some trust and is easily startled by sudden movements. This requires time, attention, cuddles, and reassurance.

When we're at the shelter, he waits until all the chaos of the other dogs greeting us has subsided, and then very carefully, very quietly, but enthusiastically, he approaches us. He puts a paw on your leg, wagging his tail, and comes for a cuddle. "Yes, please pet me," seems to be his command. When he feels safe, he loves getting attention; you can see that he really enjoys being pet. But if you make a sudden movement, he'll get startled again and back away.

Sol gets along well with other dogs. He plays nicely with them. If adopters have a resident dog who is stable and sociable, Sol will fit in perfectly.

Sol walks well on a lead, but he's only used to quiet places. Because he's not an adventurous type, he doesn't pull on the lead, which makes walking with him calm and enjoyable.

Busy areas are stressful for Sol. He finds crowds and traffic daunting and needs to be build up more self-confidence before being able to go to busier places.

When Sol feels comfortable, ha also has wonderfully playful moments: extended zoomies, playing, and rolling around. You can see his true, happy personality come out when he feels safe.

Sol would thrive in a quiet home with patient adopters who don't expect too much from him too quickly, and where he can learn to feel completely safe and secure.

Once he settles in and feels comfortable, you'll see more and more of the real Sol: a sweet, gentle, and affectionate dog who loves to play, cuddle, and be a little silly every now and then. Give him some time to get used to everything, and Sol will truly be the best friend you could wish for!

Sol is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
