❄ What makes Skylar special: her beautiful grey and white coat
Skylar arrived in the Melez shelter as a tiny puppy of only a few months old. She had been living on the streets all by herself when she was hit by a car and broke her leg. Thankfully, the person who hit her took her to the vets and paid for her treatment, but they didn't want to take her home so poor Skylar had nowhere to go.. Not wanting her to have to go back to the streets, they called us to ask for help.
Skylar grew up in the Melez shelter and grew into a beautiful, sweet dog. She is a very gentle dog, with a sweet temperament and a soft nature. Because she grew up in the shelter, she saw very little of the outside world and she is a bit insecure in new places and situations. She is cautious but curious when taken out of the shelter for walks. She walks well on the lead, but is easily spooked. When she is scared, she is easily comforted and adapts quickly and responds well to being guided through situations she finds scary.
Skylar is very sweet and friendly towards people, and loves getting attention. She happily greets visitors to her kennel. When she is taken outside for a walk, she is a bit wary of strangers passing by on the street, especially if they're male, but with a little coaxing she calmly walks past them and will also approach men.
This sweet girl gets along extremely well with other dogs, and loves nothing more than playing with her kennel mates! She gets along with all other dogs and loves meeting new dogs. She would be very happy to have other dogs in her home, who she can play with and learn from. She also likes cats.
For Skylar, we are looking for a calm, stable home where she can feel safe and loved, with a family who will show her the love, patience and guidance she craves. With love and stability, we know this gentle girl will be able to blossom into a confident dog, and her sweet, gentle personality can really shine through!
Skylar is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
