❄ What makes Sallie unique: her gorgeous fluffy coat!
Sallie came into our care in the summer of 2025.
We rescued Sallie from a government shelter in central Turkey. This area is known for being severely under resourced - with only a few animal lovers and an overwhelming amount of dogs needing help. Dogs in this area have practically no hope of being saved...
Sallie was one of the more quiet dogs in the shelter and she would usually sit in the corner of her kennel staring at visitors, quietly hoping that it would be her turn to be adopted. Whenever the local volunteers approached her kennel, she would lie on the floor and show them her belly, desperate for some love and attention.
Seeing what a sweet soul she was, we couldn't leave her behind.
This sweet, sensitive, and slightly insecure girl is a gorgeous dog who truly adores people.
If she had to choose between people and animals, she'd choose people. Nothing makes her more excited than receiving attention and a good cuddle. Whether it's a man or a woman, someone she knows or a stranger, it doesn't matter for Sallie. She loves being around people.
She can be a bit jealous, and even try to chase other dogs away if she's getting some attention and it looks like she might have to share it. This isn't her being a diva, she just really savours the moments where she finally gets the attention she so craves, and really wants to make the most of every interaction with humans.
Sallie fits in well with the group in her kennel and gets along well with the other dogs. She loves to play with them.
However, she can be insecure around new dogs and is clearly more of a "people dog" than a "dog dog."
Sallie doesn't like cats.
Sallie is insecure when out on a lead. She can be nervous around traffic, but with some support, she does find the courage to keep onwalking relatively quickly. A busy city would most likely be too overwhelming for Sallie. When she feels insecure, she clearly seeks support from her human, and craves reassurance from them during walks.
She quite literally leans heavily against you, wanting as much physical contact as possible. She lets herself be guided by you and responds well to encouragement, but will still often seek reassurance by leaning against you.
Besides being very sweet, Sallie is also beautiful to look at and has a lot of love to give at home. She will need adopters who are home often, and are willing to patiently help her gain more confidence and thus become less dependent on people. She's truly ready for this.
Sallie is currently in Turkey and is available for adoption in the UK and the EU.
Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
