❄ What makes Patch unique: his black eye patch

Patch came to us from a government shelter in the North East of Turkey. This area is a convervative part of the country, where there are hardly any rescuers and dogs have little hope of a better future. Patch is an abandoned hunting dog, who was heartlessly left in the government shelter by his owner when he was no longer needed. As a gentle dog in a harsh, overcrowded environment, Patch really struggled. He came to us in an absolutely terrible state. His tangled, matted fur hid the fact that he wa absolutely skeletal. He was one of the most malnourished dogs we have ever seen...

Thankfully, Patch made a full recovery, and he is now a happy, healthy boy!

​Patch is one big ball of energy! He rarely sits still, and can usually be found running up and down the length of the enclosure. It's not uncommon for a blur of black and white to flash past you as you're in the enclosure cleaning or feeding - that's Patch! He doesn't care that it's dinner time, he's too busy running around and trying to get the other dogs to play with him!

Patch has an active prey drive, but doesn't show aggressive behaviour when he wants to hunt. It is all play for him!

 

Patch also loves playing with other dogs. 
He is one of the underdogs in the enclosure and is very submissive towards the other dogs. He loves playing with any of the dogs he doesn't find too intimidating though. You can usually find him happily prancing about the enclosure trying to get one of his friends to play with him. He also loves playing with toys, and staring at birds in the trees!

Patch adores people and is very friendly and cuddly. He is excited to greet new people and isn't scared of strangers. But although he likes getting cuddles, he doesn't sit still for long, and after getting enough attention, he is off again to play.

 

He is very enthusiastic on the lead, and can pull out of excitement. He likes being out and about, and doesn't mind going to busy areas, but he is a little afraid of traffic and needs training to learn to get used to being in the car (he tries to jump out the second the door opens at the moment).

Patch is a sweet, social dog who is full of life! His happy, playful nature is contagious and is sure to bring a smile to your face!

Patch is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU or the UK.

​

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and defleaed and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma.

The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated to you beforehand.
