❄ What makes Natti special: Natti is the fastest dog in the Melez enclosure, there is no catching her when it is time for zoomies!
Natti is one of our government shelter rescues. We don't know anything about her past, but she was so unhappy to be in the shelter, and any time anyone came close to her kennel she would cling to the fence, crying and desperately wagging her tail, hoping to be chosen to be rescued. It was heartbreaking to see how desperate she was to be saved, and we couldn't leave her behind.
Natti is a small dog with a big personality! A true diva in the making.
She is generally very cheerful, sweet, and social. She is a fairly easy dog, who responds very enthusiastically to guidance and is a quick learner.
Outside of the enclosure, she is a dream dog: she walks well on the lead (she holds her tail up and happily follows you, excited to go on an adventure), is friendly towards everyone she meets, and enjoys heading out to discover new places. She can also handle busier environments well.
But when it is time to go back to the enclosure, her cheerful posture changes. Natti is very overstimulated and stressed in the busy, chaotic enclosure… When she is in her kennel, we see that she is a lot more nervous, which mainly manifests itself as hyper energetic behavior and a lot of crying.
She clearly does not feel at ease surrounded by so many dogs.
And although she likes to play with her kennel mates, she does not get enough space for herself, and doesn't have enough opportunity to rest, and this causes lots of stress for her.
When someone enters her kennel, she clings very tightly to them in the hope that she will be allowed to go outside. Away from the hustle and bustle, where she can do her own thing without the constant presence of all the other dogs around her.
She can act quite like a diva towards other dogs: generally she is friendly, but if a dog does something she doesn't like (such as approaching her too quickly, or standing too close to her when she wants to be alone), she can stand up for herself and clearly communicates that she wants to be left alone.
On the other hand, we sometimes see her sleeping peacefully next to one of her friends, and she enjoys playing with the other dogs. It just depends on her mood and stress levels.
Natti can be a bit intimided by new dogs. As long as she can have a calm introduction, she shows interest and is friendly, but if the other dog is too pushy, she gets overwhelmed.
Natti absolutely adores people and loves being around humans, and getting lots of attention. She will never pass up the opportunity to sit on your lap and get some one-on-one attention! She is equally friends towards people she knows, and towards new people.
Natti is very energetic and playful, and she loves being able to run around freely. She would be a good fit for adopters with an active lifestyle.

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
