❄ What makes Nancy special: Nancy has a crooked head. The cause of this is unknown, but it doesn't bother her and she doesn't let it get in the way of being a happy little pup!

Nancy is a tiny little dog, weighing only 7 kg, who ended up on the streets all by herself. We spotted her on our way to the enclosure one day. She was following people around, begging to be taken to safety. When she saw the large neighbourhood stray dogs she started to panic and ran up to us... Clearly, she was struggling. Her ears were filled with ticks and she was so scared. We couldn't leave her behind, so we brought her to the safety of the Melez enclosure.

Nancy is a sweet, little black dog with a condition affecting her knee in one of her back legs. But you don't need to feel sorry for her, because she definitely doesn't. She doesn't let her condition hold her back in any way, so neither should you!

If you look at Nancy, you'll see that her head is tilted. The cause of this is unknown, but thankfully, it doesn't seem to bother her. It does make her extra unique in her appearance!

Nancy also has a grade 2 patellar luxation in one of her back legs. What is this? Her kneecap sometimes pops out of its socket on its own, and then goes back in on its own. A kneecap doesn't sit in a proper round socket, but slides into a groove. Sometimes it pops out of that groove and goes back in on its own.

Fortunately, she's not experiencing much discomfort from this at the moment.

We've only seen her hold up her back leg once, but most of the time, she uses her leg normally, just like any other dog.

There's a chance this will worsen in the future, and then she might need surgery.

Despite this occasional kneecap slippage, Nancy is the most cheerful, grateful, and loving dog around. She's a real sweetheart!

Nancy loves people. As soon as she spots you, she's instantly happy to see you: she jumps (yes, she can do that!) against the fence of her kennel with complete joy. When you open the door of her kennel, you better sit down right away, because she races out and wants to jump straight onto your lap. She'll circle around on your lap a bit, looking for the best spot, before settling down, completely content. She loves to snuggle and be cuddled.

It's not just people she is familiar with that she does this with; she also loves new people, and she's even enthusiastic about men. She's not afraid of anyone and wants to be friends with everyone. She's the friendliest little girl!

When we found her, all alone on the street, she was very scared of other dogs and barked at them a lot. Now she is much more confident around other dogs, and we haven't heard her bark at another dog again. She happily plays with the other dogs in her kennel. However, she's clearly more focused on people.

Nancy walks well on a lead and is very confident. She leads the way enthusiastically, tail up, nose in the wind. One happy pup!

She's an energetic, playful dog who loves going for walks, but because of her knee condition, it's best not to make her walk for hours.

Luckily, she can burn off some energy by doing "zoomies," running laps in the grass. She's surprisingly speedy!

Nancy is an incredibly sweet and loving dog, who doesn't feel sorry for herself at all, and is actually incredibly cheerful. She seems to simply accept her occasional knee condition, and still makes the most of life!

Nancy would be a great fit for adopters who would love a dog they can play with and take out for walks, without having to walk for hours.

Adopters who love being having a cheerful welcome whenever they come home, and who don't mind her slightly tilted head. Nancy would love to try out your lap and get your full attention. You'll get so much of love and enthusiasm from her!

Nancy is currently in Turkey, and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK
