❄ What makes Missy special: her sweet little puppy eyes!

Missy came into our care in the summer of 2026 after being rescued from the government shelter. She is a tiny little dog, who had a home before. She was injured and broke her leg. Her owners got her treated, and she underwent an operation to fix her leg. It looks like her owners abandoned her in the government shelter when she didn't recover from the operation fast enough. Most likely, they were scared of incurring further costs to help her get better. Luckily, with time, she made a full recovery, and she didn't need any further treatment. But rather than wait for her to get better, her owners abandoned her in the dangerous government shelter, just when she needed them the most.

 

With her plumed tail and little black ears, Missy is an absolute stunner to look at. She's a happy, sociable, adventurous little dog who thrives on attention. She may be small, but her personality is anything but. As well as being young, enthusiastic and up for anything, she's a diva in the making. Attention? She adores it. The more, the better.

 

Missy is affectionate and wonderfully social with strangers. Everybody's friend, this one. She's been known to trot after passers-by on the street, tail wagging away. On one occasion she nearly hopped into a stranger's car, clearly convinced she'd be more than welcome.

She loves climbing into your lap and covering you in kisses, and she'll happily let you fuss over her. That said, she's easily distracted, so she's off again just as quickly. She isn't too clingy.

You can let Missy near children without a second thought, because she's lovely and gentle with them. It's a win-win, really: children tend to love stroking dogs, and she loves being stroked.

 

Missy is brilliant with other dogs. She's full of enthusiasm when she meets someone new, and she'll happily play for ages with her kennel mates. She shares her toys, too.

 

She's delightfully active and always tuned in to what's going on around her. And oh, is she curious. She loves to explore, and absolutely everything is fascinating to her. Even an ant crossing her path gets her undivided attention. That can make it a little tricky to get her focus back sometimes, but she walks beautifully on the lead.

Missy isn't frightened of anything, traffic included. Her instinctive startle response is to bark: if something catches her off guard, she'll bark at it in great indignation, and she can get a bit stuck in that loop. She'll also do it to get attention, from people and from other dogs alike. She feels the need to shout "look at me", "look how much fun I am", when honestly, you can see that perfectly well without the barking.

Missy is a sweet little dog who's going to bring an enormous amount of joy to a family, with or without children, with or without other dogs. She could manage life in a city, though her adopters should know they'll need to build up to it gently. Her limits will need looking after, so she doesn't get overstimulated.

 

With a bit of guidance, Missy will be a friend for life!​

Missy is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK

​

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
