❄ What makes Miles special: his amazing transformation from walking skeleton to a happy healthy boy!

Miles came into our care in December 2024. He was stuck in the government shelter with no hope of a future.

Miles is a great example of the type of vulnerable dog that is at risk under Turkey's 'Massacre Law'. Middle-aged, quiet and weak, as his kennel got more and more crowded, he was unable to get enough food, and he started to waste away.. When we rescued him, he was so incredibly malnourished, he was a walking skeleton.. Thankfully, he quickly made a full recovery!

Despite everything he has been through, Miles is the sweetest boy and he is so loving and loyal. He has settled in really well in the Melez enclosure and is a beloved member of the pack. Miles gets along wonderfully with all the other dogs in the enclosure. Big or small, male or female, as long as are up for playing, Miles loves them! He can spend hours prancing about the enclosure playing with his friends. He can however be a bit jealous and wants to make sure he gets all your attention when he is getting cuddles.

Miles is really in his element in the enclosure, and he is the most cheerful, playful boy. When he feels comfortable, his big, goofy personality really comes out. He is always first in line ready to say hello to us when we arrive in the morning. He squeezes past all the bigger dogs to be the first to get all the morning cuddles!

Miles is a very affectionate dog who loves getting attention and pets. He can be a little insecure around strangers, but quickly warms up to them once he realises he is safe.

​

Miles loves food and always wants more! He can be pretty vocal when he sees other dogs getting treats, and will do his best to let you know that he wants the treats too!

 

Outside of the enclosure, Miles loves going for walks and going out to explore, as long as it is in quiet surroundings. He loves being out on nature and sniffing all the new smells, but traffic and loud sounds make him very nervous. Once startled by a loud sound, it is difficult to get him to relax again, and all he wants is to go back to where he feels safe.

 

We think Miles may have had an owner who hit him before, because when he first arrived, he would flinch whenever we made sudden movements towards him. He can still be quite skittish around loud people, or people making strange movements, such as small children or builders.

 

Miles would thrive in a calm, loving home in a quiet environment, with a stable daily routine. He would be so happy to have a family to give all his love and cuddles to!

Miles is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the Uk / the EU.

​

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
