❄ What makes Lotta special: her black eye patch!
Lotta came to our shelter in spring 2025.
Lotta came to us from a state shelter in northern Turkey, a conservative region where dogs have little chance of getting the care they need. We know nothing about Lotta's past. She may have been used as a hunting dog but was discarded because she wasn't good enough. She arrived at the state shelter and, as a loving dog with a gentle nature, had a very difficult time. She couldn't assert herself, lost a lot of weight and grew weaker and weaker. When she came to us, she was really emaciated. Fortunately, we were able to get Lotta out of the shelter in time, and as soon as she was in the Melez enclosure, she recovered quickly.
If someone asked us to describe Lotta in three words, I would say: loving, energetic and adventurous.
Lotta is a little whirlwind, but one that sparkles with enthusiasm!
She really loves people. She always greets everyone cheerfully. The last visitor need not worry about not being greeted. Don't worry, Lotta never forgets anyone.
She is playful, but also loves to be petted. When you sit down, she jumps effortlessly onto your lap and makes herself really comfortable there. Cuddling is the order of the day! She is very affectionate and sweet.
But she is by no means a lap dog. She is bursting with energy and can play, run and romp for hours, even with other dogs. Lotta likes rough play, so go ahead! The more timid dogs will then retreat, as they sometimes feel intimidated.
Outdoors, she is just as enthusiastic and loves to jump into everyone's arms. This will make for interesting, perhaps even funny walks at first...
By the way, she walks well on a leash, but often nothing is fast enough for her: she pulls on the leash. In other words, she wants you to hurry up.
Does she perhaps suffer from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)? You never know.
We haven't noticed any naughty behaviour in the enclosure. However, as she is an energetic, adventurous dog, this is something to keep an eye on.
In short: Lotta is a sweet, affectionate dog with lots of energy.
Are you an energetic and adventurous person yourself? Do you have a garden where she can romp and play? Are you not afraid of an enthusiastic, playful dog who still has a lot to learn? Then you are a dream match! She can't wait to be picked up by you. Because, as described above, waiting is not really her thing.
She will be a real enrichment to your life!
Lotta is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/UK.
The dogs come to their new homes microchipped, with up-to-date rabies and mixed vaccinations, neutered, dewormed and tested for heartworm, ehrlichia, leishmania and anaplasma. The dogs will undergo a final health check at the vet before departure. If necessary, their teeth will be cleaned and X-rays will be taken of any problem areas. Any concerns or potential health issues that we are aware of will be communicated to you in advance.
