❄ What makes Linus special: Linus is our three-legged Pointer, who lost his leg due to a hunting accident.

Linus came to us from a government shelter in the North East of Turkey in a shocking state. He was severely malnourished and was a walking skeleton. He also had an old injury in one of his back legs, and he couldn't use the leg at all. X-Rays showed that he broke his leg (most likely in a hunting accident) and was operated on, but that the operation was unsuccessful. His bones were still broken, and he had metal pins in his leg that are causing him lots of discomfort. There was still puss oozing from the scar. Unfortunately the leg was beyond saving, and we had to get it amputated. Most likely, his owner abandoned him in the government shelter when the operation on his leg was unsuccessful, because they would never be able to use him as a hunting dog again. Poor Linus was abandoned right at the moment when he needed help and care the most. After being a faithful companion to his owner, he was deserted as soon as he was no longer useful.
Linus has adapted wonderfully to life as a tripawd, and is now a happy, healthy boy.

Linus is a sensitive dog. He's running around happily again now, but the process after his amputation was very difficult for him: After his surgery, he was so shocked and scared that he had the hiccups for 24 hours straight. He managed to break the hearts of everyone at the vets; even the most seasoned vet was heartbroken to see him so upset.

After the amputation, he was very sensitive about the amputation area for a long time, and he would panic if you tried to touch it. But thankfully, he's starting to regain some confidence and be a bit more carefree again. It's so lovely to see him become his happy self again!

Linus loves people. He's the most loyal dog you could wish for. He wants to be with you a lot, likes to lean against you for extra support, and tries to snuggle up as close to you as possible for a good cuddle.

He's very friendly with the other dogs at the kennel. In the enclosure, he's a bit nervous, and this can lead to him barking at other dogs he sees from his kennel. But he gets along very well with all the other dogs in his kennel and is friendly when greeting new dogs.

He's definitely not friendly to other animals. He doesn't like cats, and other animals better stay out of the way when Linus is out for a walk. He has a strong hunting instinct.

This hunting dog thinks he still has to fulfill his role as a hunting dog when he's outside.

He sticks his nose in the grass, then sniffs a scent, and then prefers follows his nose with much enthusiasm and with all his strength. Despite the fact that he only has three legs, he can still be surprisingly strong when he has caught a scent.

Linus will have to learn that going for a walk can also be fun, and that it is ok to be calm and relaxed when outside.

Despite only having three legs, Linus is very mobile, energetic, and loves to run. He also loves nothing more than climbing onto the sofa afterwards. So a house where dogs aren't allowed on the sofa isn't for him.

Linus is a very sweet, loyal, and affectionate dog who truly deserves a good home.

Do you have a comfy couch for Linus to snuggle on? Don't you mind your dog going through life on three legs? And are you looking for the most loyal dog ever? Then welcome Linus into your life! He'll be your buddy, through thick and thin.

Linus is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
