❄ What makes Lilli special: Lilli is the calmest, quietest dog at the Melez shelter. She expects very little from you and doesn't need much to be happy.
Lilli is a senior dog who came to us after her owner could no longer care for her.
Lilli is a sweet old lady who, at a respectable age, prefers to enjoy her well-deserved rest.
She longs for a quiet home to spend her final years in. Far away from the hustle and chaos of the shelter, a nice spot where she can stretch out and do nothing. She would absolutely love to have a warm comfortable spot where she can lie, either in the sun, next to a heater, on a rug, or a bed. Actually, anything more comfortable than the shelter will do – she's not picky!
Lilli is very quiet and has an extremely low energy level. She certainly won't be a nuisance to you! She blends into the background well and it can be easy to overlook her, but fortunately it's easy to find her as she'll likely be in one of her favourite spots!
Lilli likes to live a straightforward life. She spends a lot of time lying down. Lying comfortably on a rug in a nice spot is something she enjoys immensely. That is simply her biggest hobby.
She also loves a chew stick. She doesn't get up for much other than to eat, drink, or to pee and poop, she loves to be lazy!
When you put her on a leash and take her for a walk, you will encounter resistance at first. She gets nervous for it and seemingly prefers not to walk. She'll lie down in protest. If you insist, she eventually gives in and she actually quite enjoys walking around and sniffing a bit. At the beginning of a walk, she sometimes tries to run back to the kennel, but with a persuasion and when given the time, she seems to enjoy being outside for a bit.
With some encouragement Lilli walks well on the leash on the street and she seems happy to be on a walk. But if she gets nervous, she'll lie back down.
She is shy and very gentle. You may pet her, and every now and then she comes to ask for more, but she asks for too much. She really doesn't like to make a fuss.
Lilli is also very friendly and gentle towards other animals. But, to be clear, she'd much prefer to be left alone. She has no interest in interaction or playing with other animals.
Lilli might be secretly waiting for someone to offer her a forever home before she shows her true character. She might just be lazy forever, she is a senior dog after all. We hope that a life in a home will give her back her sparkle. She deserves nothing less.
We are looking for someone for Lilli who is truly willing to love their dog unconditionally. Someone who wouldn't mind if she wants nothing other than to be indoors and be lazy. Someone who gives her the space to allow her to do her own thing. Someone who is patient and willing to try to explore if, with the right guidance, she can be challenged to show character development, but is equally happy if that's not the case.
If you are looking for a minimalist dog, if you value modesty and tranquility, Lilli is your dog. She truly deserves a comfortable place to spend her final years.
Can you offer her the comfort, the peace and quiet that she longs for and deserves? She'll be incredibly grateful to you!
Lilli is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
