❄ What makes Karlie special: with her furry ears and brown eye patches, Karlie is a very unique looking dog!
Karlie came into our care in the summer of 2025 from a government shelter in central Turkey. This area is known for being severely under resourced - with only a few animal lovers and an overwhelming amount of dogs needing help. Dogs in this area have practically no hope of being saved...
Karlie was stuck in a tiny crowded kennel. She was so desperate to be let out that when the local rescuers approached the kennel she clung to the fence trying with all her might to get to them. Seeing her desperation, we instantly agreed to take her in.
Although she is around 1.5 years old, Karlie is a forever puppy and the big baby of the Melez enclosure! She is fully grown and is a great size — on the smaller side of medium — but behaviour-wise she is still very much a puppy. This means lots of fun, excited, adventurous energy, plenty of enthusiasm for people, and a small dose of mischief!
Karlie is a very energetic dog who loves to run and play. She spends her days running and playing in the Melez enclosure and would be best suited to an active lifestyle. She would love to go on long walks and have plenty of opportunities to run, explore, and play.
Karlie is great with people. She is friendly with everyone and enjoys meeting new people. In the chaos of the enclosure, she can get distracted by everything happening around her, but once she is out of that environment, she is much more focused on you. Sometimes she can be a little too enthusiastic when greeting people and is still learning not to jump up in excitement.
Inside the enclosure, Karlie can be nervous and barks at other dogs through the fence — she’s simply overstimulated by the busy surroundings. Outside, she is much calmer and more social. She interacts well with other dogs, walks nicely on the lead, and enjoys going out on adventures. She is very focused on people and treats, so she will likely enjoy and benefit from training. Karlie is also very playful and loves her toys.
Karlie would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and is looking for a loyal, fun-loving friend to share it with.
Karlie is currently in Turkey and is available for adoption in the EU/the UK
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
