❄ What makes Juniper special? Her fluffy ears!
Juniper was found all alone on the street as a young dog. She was scared and confused, and because her immune system was not yet strong enough to handle the harsh life on the street, she became very ill. She developed pneumonia and a terrible bloody diarrhoea. This was too much for her body, and she became more and more sick and weaker.
Fortunately, she was rescued in time. Juniper had to spend over a week in intensive care at the vet's before she started to feel better. At first, it seemed like she wouldn't survive, but after undergoing intensive treatments for a week, she found the strength to fight back and slowly but surely recovered. Juniper has now fully recovered and has become a healthy, happy dog.
Juniper is a fun, young dog with an incredibly sweet character. She has very fluffy, soft ears and a beautiful bushy tail.
She is one of the gentlest dogs we have ever had at Melez!
She loves people, both familiar and new. She sometimes struggles to control her enthusiasm – as soon as she spots you, she'll rush towards you, and happily jumps into your lap!
She is very easy-going, very people-oriented, and loves to cuddle
Juniper is a social butterfly who would love a home with another dog to show her the way. She’s young, eager to learn, and ready for training. Just a heads-up for her future owners: this talented go-getter is an expert at scouting for food scraps or loose items on the table, so she’ll need a bit of supervision while she settles in!
She gets along with all the dogs in the shelter and really enjoys playing with her friends. And after playing, she loves to snuggle up next to you for a nap.
Cats, be warned: Juniper will most definitely try to chase you. For this reason we don't believe Juniper would be a good match for a family with cats.
Juniper walks well on a leash and she absolutely loves a good walk: more time to run, play and meet new people!
She is inexperienced with busy traffic, chaotic environments, crowds, or noise. Given her energetic character, we think it would help her a lot to gradually expose her to these new situations gradually.
If she gets scared, she'll wrap her front paws around you in a tight hug. She'll quite literally cling to you to seek reassurance from humans.
In summary, Juniper is a young and happy dog with a healthy dose of playful puppy energy. She really still has a lot to learn, but she will give back a lot of love in return.
Past the puppy stage but still young enough to train, she’s ready to grow up and build a life with her forever family.
Her adopters will need to be aware that, despite her optimism, she has seen very little of the world and that she'll be new to many situations in her adopted life. They will need to take things very slowly with her to avoid overwhelming her.
Her adopters will also need to be prepared for the mischievous, playful energy of a young dog. In return, however, they will get an absolute sweetheart who wins everyone's heart with her gentle character!
Juniper is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
