❄ What makes Gracie unique: her beautiful green eyes!
We rescued Gracie from the brink of death in the spring of 2025. When we found her, she was in a terrible state and she had given up hope...
Gracie was completely malnourished, and she had a bacterial infection, anemia, severe breathing issues, nephritis (inflamed kidneys) and hepatitis. She was refusing to eat, had bloody diarrhea and was throwing up blood clots. Her body was shutting down...
We rushed her to the vets and started her treatment straight away. She fought a huge fight for survival. For the first few days and nights, every breath sounded like it might be her last, and we had to check she was still alive many times..
Throughout all of this, this sweet girl still wagged her tail every time she saw us!
Thankfully, she made a full recovery.
Gracie is one of the most affectionate dogs at the shelter. She loves people. When someone is in her kennel, she wants to cuddle as much as possible. As soon as you sit down, she jumps into your arms. She finds a cosy spot next to you and then seems to say, “Go ahead and pet me!” She really enjoys those moments and knows that no one can resist her.
She absolutely loves new people: visitors to the shelter must come and cuddle her immediately, strangers during walks are greeted cheerfully, and she is even enthusiastic about the staff at the vet and wants their attention right away.
Men, women, children, it doesn't matter to Gracie: as long as she can cuddle. She would love to crawl right into you!
In her enthusiasm, Gracie can come across as very energetic, but once she has had enough attention, she is a reasonably calm, stable dog who is easy to get along with. She walks well on a leash and is confident, can handle heavy traffic and is not easily frightened. She enthusiastically walks into a coffee shop or the vet's office.
Gracie is friendly towards other dogs, but she can be quite jealous. Imagine if another dog got all your cuddles... We think she would be happiest as the only dog in the house. Of course, this could change if she has a calm, stable home.
Gracie is playful and loves to play with toys. She can be very enthusiastic about this for a long time. In the Turkish heat, digging is her favourite hobby. She has managed to dig impressive holes, where she then lies down, feeling very proud. It's nice and cool too! So she's smart as well.
You won't find a more grateful dog than Gracie; she wants a home of her own so badly!
So, do you have lots of cuddles to give to a sweet, affectionate dog who is easy-going, sometimes a little jealous but more than makes up for it with her enthusiasm and energy? Do you have enough time to give your dog lots of attention? Then come and meet Gracie. She is waiting for you...
Gracie is currently in Turkey and is available for adoption in the UK and the EU.
Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
