❄ What makes Flower special: Flower sustained serious injuried to one of her hips when she was younger. She underwent a femoral head ostectomy operation and can now walk, run and play without pain, although on very rare occassions she will hold her leg up. You can still see the scar from her injuries by a parting in her fur on her side.

Flower came into our care in the spring of 2024. She had been living in the garden of a local museum, where employees feed and look after a handfull of stray dogs. She was content with her life there, but unfortunately the other dogs became territorial and started attacking her. One day they attacked her so badly that she sustained severe injuries from being bitten in her legs and abdomen. The bite wounds were so deep that she needed stitches. A local rescuer took her to the vets to be treated, but once Flower was better, no-one wanted to adopt her, so the rescuer was forced to release her back into the same area. Flower was attacked again and was once again injured. It was clear that she wasn't safe there anymore, so her rescuer asked us to take her in.

Flower is a sweet and loving girl, but also a nervous one. In the chaotic life of the enclosure, her nervous, weary side comes out more, and she rarely feels completely safe or relaxed. We hope that in a calm, patient, and loving home, she’ll be able to grow more confident and carefree.

Flower likes people and is very happy when she gets attention, but she can be a little insecure, especially around new people. She sometimes shows this insecurity by nervously humping, which is her way of trying to connect while feeling unsure. When the environment is calm, she relaxes, and her true personality shines through — she’ll even do a little happy dance when someone comes to spend time with her.

She is easily startled by sudden or intimidating movements and will try to hide if she feels threatened. Because of this, she needs gentle handling and a peaceful home where she can feel secure.

Flower is selective about which dogs she likes. She is a well-accepted member of the Melez pack and generally gets along well with the other dogs in her enclosure, but she only forms close friendships with certain ones. With dogs she considers friends, she is very easy-going and happy to share her space and food. However, she can guard her food around dogs she doesn’t know well. When meeting new dogs, she may seem nervous, but she is curious and will usually approach to sniff them. If another dog oversteps her boundaries, she may try to defend herself.

When Flower sees the lead, she sometimes gets scared and tries to hide. But once it’s on and she’s outside, she walks beautifully and clearly enjoys exploring her surroundings.

Flower is a diamond in the rough. Beneath her layers of fear and uncertainty is a cheerful dog who loves to play and receive cuddles. She will thrive in an experienced, patient home with calm adopters who can help her feel safe, build her confidence, and show her what it means to be loved.

Flower is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
