What Makes Me Me
She is a real little bundle of joy who loves being involved in everything around her
Story
Chili is one of our government shelter rescues. She came to us from a shelter in the North East of Turkey, an area where there are almost no rescuers or charities. The government shelters are filled with hundreds of beautiful, friendly, adoptable dogs, but there is no-one to save them, and they have no hope for a better life over there...
Chili was stuck in a crowded kennel. Small, young and weak, she didn't have the fighter spirit it takes to survive in a Turkish government shelter. She lost lots of weight and became malnourished, and developed a bacterial infection. Turkish government shelters don't treat sick dogs, so if a local volunteer hadn't intervened, Chili would have lost her life to starvation and an infection which is easily treated with antibiotics.
Thankfully, we were able to get her out in time and she quickly recovered in the Melez enclosure. Despite everything, she is the sweetest, happiest pup!
Character
Chilli is a happy, affectionate and enthusiastic young dog with a real puppy spirit. She loves cuddles, attention, playtime and going on little adventures. In fact, Chilli thinks almost everything is fun! Whether she gets to play with her dog friends, head out of the shelter or return after an outing, she approaches it all with the same cheerful enthusiasm.
She is a real little bundle of joy who loves being involved in everything around her.Chili is a sweet, cheerful and playful young dog with an enthusiastic personality. She has plenty of puppy energy and is always ready for some fun.
Behaviour With People
She absolutely loves people, cuddles and attention, but she also enjoys playing with other dogs and exploring new things. As she is still young, adopters should be prepared for some typical teenage mischief and plenty of things to learn along the way.
She is very sociable and friendly with people. She happily greets everyone with great enthusiasm and loves receiving attention and affection. She has several dog friends at the shelter and enjoys having playmates. However, she can be selective when it comes to other dogs, so careful introductions will be important. Around cats, she is cautious but friendly.
Although Chili is full of enthusiasm, the outside world can still be a little overwhelming for her. She will need time, patience and gentle guidance to build her confidence and discover the world at her own pace.
Ideal Home
Chilli would love a loving home with people who enjoy spending time with their dog, going on walks, playing and exploring together.
Although she is an enthusiastic and happy little dog, she is still young and has not experienced much of the outside world yet. Her adopters should understand that she will need plenty of rest, especially in the beginning, and that new experiences should be introduced gradually.
It is important not to let her enthusiasm lead to too much stimulation. With patience, positive guidance, consistency and lots of love, Chilli can grow into a wonderful little companion.
And be prepared: this happy little girl still has plenty of puppy energy and teenage adventures ahead of her!
Every Melez Dog Comes Prepared
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
