❄ What makes Crackers special: his beautiful bushy tail!

We rescued Crackers from the government shelter in the spring of 2026. He had a rectal prolapse, a condition which is life-threatening if not treated in time, and he wasn't receiving any treatment. Turkish government shelters aren't set up to treat sick dogs. Their aim is to keep dogs off the streets, not to help them. Sick dogs go unnoticed in the overcrowded kennels, and injured or unwell dogs never receive treatment. Time was running out for poor Crackers, but luckily we got him out just in time, and he made a full recovery.

Crackers is a sweet little male dog with a stable temperament. He's a cheerful, sociable dog with an easy-going nature.

Crackers loves people and wants lots of attention from everyone. He loves being in the spotlight, and greets new people with real enthusiasm. Out on the street, he's convinced that every passer-by has come especially to see him, and he appreciates it fully, saying hello to everyone with a happily wagging tail. People he already knows are greeted every day as if he hasn't seen them in years. It's a lovely way to start your morning.

In the busy shelter, Crackers sometimes tries to show off to make sure the attention stays on him rather than his kennel mates. He might jump on the kennel walls and get quite lively. He finds it hard to settle down inside his kennel, but manages much better outside it, provided he's getting plenty of attention.

Crackers is very sociable with other dogs and gets along well with all his kennel mates. He genuinely enjoys playing with them. He could be happy sharing a home with another sociable dog, but he'd also love to be the only dog in the house, with all the attention on him. He can get a little jealous of other dogs.

Crackers isn't a fan of cats, and will try to chase after one if he spots it.

Crackers walks nicely on a lead and is generally a confident little dog. He loves going out and discovering new places, and doesn't seem easily intimidated by crowds or traffic. He is cheerful and enthusiastic about going on adventures with people. That said, much of the world is still new to him, and his adopters will need to take things slowly so he doesn't get overwhelmed.

With his cheerful, enthusiastic and affectionate nature, we're certain Crackers will bring a lot of happiness to his new home. With a gentle start and plenty of love, he'll prove to be a real gem of a dog.

Crackers is currently in Turkey and ready to travel to the EU or the UK.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.

A home visit, adoption contract and adoption fee apply.
