β What makes Cooper special: Cooper's best feature are his puppy eyes: he can give you the most heartbreaking looks, even when nothing is wrong!β
ββ
Cooper came into our care in early 2026. He was most likely purchased to be used as a hunting dog, but he was heartlessly abandoned by the side of the road by his owners. We don't know why they abandoned him, maybe he refused to hunt, maybe they couldn't take care of him anymore... Rather than try to find a good solution for him, his family dumped him on the streets, where all of a sudden he had to learn how to survive by himself. Thankfully, he was found by animal lovers, who asked us for help. When we saw Cooper's heartbroken eyes, we couldn't turn him down!β
β
Cooper is, without a doubt, the gentlest dog on the entire planet. He's always sweet, and above all incredibly soft-hearted and submissive. Just look at his photos and those loving eyes! He's sensitive and a little insecure, and his instinct in almost every situation is to submit, so he could use a helping hand building his confidence.
Cooper is obsessed with other dogs. He lights up with joy the moment he spots one! He'd truly thrive living alongside another dog, ideally one who's stable and sociable. He's gentle with dogs of every shape and size, and because he's so soft-natured, he currently shares his kennel with some small dogs, though even then, he's often on the receiving end of a bit of teasing. He really is the ultimate underdog.
β
Cooper adores people, and every visitor to the shelter gets an enthusiastic welcome. Whether he knows you or not, he'll leap straight into you arms and cling on for as long as possible, soaking up all the attention he can get. Being petted and cuddled makes him truly happy, and he's just as sweet with strangers as he is with people he already knows.
β
Outside the shelter, Cooper is quite insecure. When it's time for a walk, he's not so sure about it at first. He'll plant himself and bury his head in your lap for as long as he can get away with it. Once his signature "sad puppy eyes" trick (truly his special skill) doesn't get him out of it, he'll reluctantly follow along. And then, with a bit of encouragement, he will turn into a happy dog who actually walks really well on the leash. He even seems to enjoy it! Having another dog along makes a huge difference: it cheers him up so much that he happily trots along. Once he gets going, he really starts to enjoy the walk.
β
Cooper doesn't show much of a hunting instinct at the shelter, but this might develop more as his confidence grows.
β
Because Cooper is so submissive with this kennelmates, he tends to stay pretty calm in his kennel. But if you bring him somewhere quieter, you'll see a different side of him: spontaneous zoomies! He loves nothing more than running around freely, and he's fast. The other dogs can't keep up with him! So while he needs plenty of rest, it's just as important for Cooper to get a chance to run and play every day to burn off that energy.
β
Cooper is the biggest sweetheart in the world, and he truly deserves a safe, loving home to call his own.
β
We're looking for adopters with plenty of time and patience who can help Cooper build his confidence. A calm environment and another dog in the home would do him a world of good.

Cooper is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK.
β
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.

A home visit, adoption contract and adoption fee apply.
