❄ What makes Clara special: Clara has one perfectly round brown spot on her side!

This is Clara, our little cow at the dog shelter. With her beautiful brown spot, she is very easy to recognise and absolutely unique!

Clara one of our government shelter rescue, who came into our care in the summer of 2025. We know she had an owner before and was used as a hunting dog, only to be cruelly abandoned at the government shelter when they no longer had any use for her. As a gentle, fragile dog not used to shelter life, Clara really struggled. She lost weight and became extremely malnourished, and she developed a bacterial infection. Government shelters aren't equipped to deal with even simple health issues like this and we knew she wouldn't last long without help. We couldn't leave her behind, so we took her out and went straight to the vets. Luckily it took only a few days of antibiotics for Clara to start feeling much better. She has since made a full recovery and has gained lots of weight!

Clara is a true Pointer, both in appearance and personality. She is a sweet, sensitive dog who is very affectionate and loyal.

She loves attention, and if you don't give her enough or don't give it to her in time, that's okay: she'll come and get it from you. The same goes for cuddles: she loves them and can't get enough. She loves to sit down and enjoy them.

Clara has a hunting instinct. She sticks her nose in the air, sniffs a few times and then decides where she wants to go. Her owners will have to be careful when walking her off the leash, because she likes to explore and will simply follow her nose. She walks well on a leash, though.

Cat lovers will not understand her, but cats are not her friends, and never will be. Living with a cat is a no-go.

Clara is a very sensitive dog who does not cope well with stress.

She fits in well with the group at the shelter, but she has become a little overstimulated and can be frightened if there is too much chaos.

She is very submissive towards people and if she thinks you are angry with her, she immediately cowers.

On the other hand, when she feels comfortable, she is very social towards people and greets all visitors to the shelter enthusiastically. She doesn't skip anyone and you can feel the warmth and enthusiasm she gives you. Lovely!

You can easily tell what mood she is in, because when she feels a little more stressed, she is a little more cautious towards new people.

She is very sociable with other dogs, but submissive.

Clara would do well in a quiet, stable home with calm, patient adopters who can help her feel completely safe.

So, are you that calm adopter who can give her lots of attention and cuddles? Don't you have a cat in your home and are you looking for a sweet, beautiful, unique and loyal dog? Then you are most likely looking for Clara!

Clara is currently in Turkey and is available for adoption in the UK and the EU.

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
