❄ What makes Button special: her, long, scruffy coat

Button arrived in the Melez enclosure in the Summer of 2023. She was found in front of a wedding venue on the outskirts of the city, by the side of a busy road. The venue owners were shocked to find scruffy little Button on their doorstep, and suspect her previous owner dumped her there and then drove off. Realising there was no way she would be able to survive on the streets, they asked us for help. 

 

We don't know what Button's life was like before she was abandoned, but she is extremely timid. She is especially scared of new people. She does want to trust though, and it doesn't take her long to warm up to you. She doesn't display any aggression towards strangers, but tries to avoid them by walking away and hiding. Her curiosity soon gets the better of her though, and after a while she will come up for a sniff. After a few calm interactions, her wariness melts away and she becomes a happy, affectionate girl! She is very friendly with people she knows and trusts, and loves getting attention and cuddles.

Button walks well on the lead and isn't easily scared by outside noises or objects, but she will try to avoid passers by.

Button adores other dogs and would be happiest in a home with another dog. Having a resident dog who can show her the ropes would be a big comfort for Button, and would help her in her development. She loves all the dogs she shares her kennel with, and sleeps cuddled up with them.

Button is a quiet, soft-natured dog. She does enjoy playing with her canine friends, but doesn't need hours of exercise.

Button would thrive in a calm home with a social resident dog and experienced adopters, who can give her the time, patience and guidance she needs to feel safe and to learn to trust her new family. In return, her family will be getting the sweetest, happiest new family member!

Button is currently in Turkey and is available for adoption in the EU/the UK

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
