❄ What makes Bridget special: Bridget is our Melez singer, who can be very vocal when she gets excited!
Bridget came into our care in the summer of 2025.
Bridget is a sweet little girl who was living in the grounds of a local student dormitory. She was very happy there and was loved and cared for by the students. She was no harm to anyone, but her mere presence on campus disturbed the management of the dormitories, and they planned to get rid of her by sending her to the government shelter. Scared of what would happen to their beloved dog in the shelter, the students reached out to us for help.
Bridget is a very sweet, easygoing female, who unfortunately doesn't feel at home at the shelter because it's far too busy and hectic for her.
She loves peace and quiet and being outside. She's calm, gentle, and a bit reserved, but she can also be a diva when she wants to!
She's a bit nervous around other dogs, but she is friendly when interacting with both dogs she knows and new dogs. In her kennel, she usually keeps to herself and tries to distance herself from the hustle and bustle of the pack.
She does play occasionally, but you won't see her endlessly chasing other dogs. Although she usually keeps her distance, she can stand up for herself when necessary.
Bridget absolutely adores people and is very gentle and enthusiastic. When people come to her kennel, she first hides in a dog house, waiting for the chaos the the wild enthusiasm of the other dogs to die down.
At some point, she gets tired of waiting and her diva behaviour surfaces: she lets out a big, dramatic cry and then makes a grand entrance: she comes up to you excitedly, wagging her tail to say "hello." It's finally her turn to get cuddles!
While she's reserved in the kennels, outside, we see a completely different side of Bridget: she's incredibly enthusiastic and cheerful. She loves one-on-one time with people and being out and about. She's confident on a lead and isn't afraid of traffic or crowds. Now, she's truly in her element.
Outside the enclosure, she greets people with complete abandon and loves jumping into your arms or showing off her belly. She just loves getting attention. She's so happy to meet new people, and she also loves children.
Bridget can sing beautifully and gives a sweet, enthusiastic "oooh" when she wants attention! Wonder what that sounds like? Take a look at https://www.facebook.com/reel/803259865589156/?s=single_unit
You can tell she's lived on the streets her whole life and has never been in a house. As enthusiastic and confident as she is outside, being inside is still very nerve-wracking for her.
She absolutely hates the vet, where she completely withdraws into her shell, sitting frozen and scared in a corner, waiting for what's to come.
When we take Bridget to the local café, she loves being in the garden, greeting everyone enthusiastically, but becomes nervous when we go inside.
We're looking for a home for Bridget where she can quietly adjust to indoor life. Where she'll have time to find a place she feels comfortable.
But we're also looking for someone who loves being outdoors, who enjoys walks, and who wants to go out with Bridget.
She can't wait to be picked up from the busy enclosure and find peace with you!
Bridget is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU
Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
