❄ What makes Brandy special: her gorgeous scruffy coat
Brandy arrived in our care in early 2025.
Brandy came to us from a government shelter in the North of Turkey. We don't know anything about her past or how she ended up there, but we do know that she was desperate to be saved. Local rescuers saw how unhappy she was and how much love she has to give and reached out to us for help.
Brandy is a sweet dog with a gentle nature. As a sensitive dog, she struggles in the crowded enclosure. When she first arrived, she was a cheerful dog who loved playing with the other dogs, but her confidence has been knocked by life in such a chaotic environment, and she clearly craves a calmer, more stable living environment.
When Brandy first arrived with us, she was very playful and spent all day playing with the other dogs in the enclosure. However lately, she has started hanging back and keeping her distance from the rest of the pack. She still occasionally plays with another dog, but most of the time she keeps to herself and tries to avoid the other dogs when they are playing. Outside of the enclosure, she is friendly towards new dogs, but doesn't show much interest in them. We think Brandy would be happiest as the only dog in the home, or living with one other social dog.
Brandy is very friendly towards people and likes getting attention. She has no problem meeting new people and happily comes to say hi. She does sometimes get spooked by sudden, loud movements towards her. When she feels scared, she quietly tries to hide and makes no attempt to defend herself.
Outside of the enclosure, Brandy is a little nervous, but she enjoys going out for walks. She walks well on the lead, doesn't pull and follows directions. Brandy loves treats and will sit down looking at you with her beautiful brown eyes begging for one more treat! We expect that she will be easy to train.
What Brandy really needs is a calm, stable home with patient, loving adopters who are willing to take things at her pace and help her build up her confidence again. With the right guidance, we know she can become her old, cheerful self again!
Brandy is currently in Turkey and will be ready to travel to the UK or the EU from September onwards.
Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
