❄ What makes Sun special: the adorable combination of her white and black nose, tiny size and short legs, and her bushy curly tail!

Sun has been in our care since the Summer of 2023. She arrived in the Melez shelter as a tiny pup of a few months old. She was only a baby, but because she was born a street dog, she had already had to deal with fear and pain..

This tiny girl was trying to survive on the streets by herself when she was hit by a car and broke her back leg. She was dragged along the asphalt in the accident, and has grazes and wounds all over her body. Miraculously, she survived the crash and was spotted by animal lovers, who took her to the vets so she could get the care she needed. But when the time came for her to leave the vets, no-one would take her in, so they asked us for help. Thankfully, she didn't need surgery and with some TLC, she made a full recovery!

When Sun first arrived with us, she was so scared and was in so much pain that she would scream out in terror whenever anyone tried to touch her. But she quickly learned that she was safe and can trust us, and it didn't take long for her to turn into a real love bug!

Little Sun may be small, but she has a big character! This happy little girl spends most of her time playing with the other dogs or with toys (her favourite) and generally being a mischievous, funny, slightly crazy little upstart despite being the smallest dog in the pack! Sun always manages to entertain with her goofy antics!

Sun gets along well with dogs she knows, and would be very happy to share her home with other dogs, however she is nervous around new dogs. She may bark when she sees a strange dog in the distance, and is uneasy with new dogs until she has had a chance to properly sniff them. She can also be a little shy around new people, but quickly gets over her shyness and happily asks for belly rubs. She is very sweet and affectionate with people she knows.

As Sun grew up in the Melez enclosure, she has seen little of the outside world and much is new to her. Her family will have to help her build up confidence in new situations and environments. Sun walks well on the lead and enjoys going for walks. She sometimes gets spooked by strange noises, and will freeze, but it only takes a little bit of encouragement for her to feel better and keep on walking.

Sun would thrive in a stable, calm home with adopters with enough patience and love to help her build up her self confidence. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest, goofiest dog there is, and she is sure to bring lots of happiness and laughter to her home!

Sun is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
