❄ What makes Penelope special: Penelope is a Distemper survivor. As a result of her battle against Distemper, she has a slight tic in one of her back legs.

Penelope and her friend Rivka arrived in the Melez enclosure in the winter of 2023. Before they came to us, they had a home, where they were happy. They lived in the garden at a local farm, and although they weren't allowed indoors, they were safe from the dangers of the streets and were well fed. But their simple, happy life came to an abrupt end when their owner moved to a different town and didn't want to bring them with him. Instead, he surrendered them to us.

Penelope is a sweet, middle-aged girl with a lovely, soft-natured character. She is very easy-going and well-behaved and is one of our favourite dogs! She walks well on the lead and is confident when out for walks.

Penelope loves people. She is very cuddly and loves to be picked up and held, and to be able to sit on your lap. She is very loyal and never strays far from our side. She loves both men and women and is great with strangers, excitedly going up to anyone she can find to ask for pets. Once someone gives her some attention, she happily sits down by their feet and will stay there for as long as she can!

Penelope is a social dog and she gets along well with other dogs, but is much more focused on humans. She would love being able to be the only dog in the house, where she can get all the attention she wants, but would also get along well with another dog in the home. She is friendly towards cats.

Penelope is a very special dog who deserves a very special home! Could you offer her the comfortable, loving home she so deserves?

Penelope is currently in Turkey, and is ready to travel to the EU / the UK.

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
