❄ What makes Myra special: her sweet, easy-going, loving personality

I found Myra and her sister Ora roaming the streets on my way to the dog enclosure one morning. They were all alone and they were confused and scared.. They were covered in ticks and were very hungry. Most probably they were abandoned by their mother's owner because they are female. In rural areas of Turkey, female dogs are not wanted, and people prefer male dogs. Having to get females spayed is seen as a big inconvenience, and isn't something people want to have to deal with, so getting a male dog is seen as an easier option. As the dogs are kept outdoors, they are usually able to interact with street dogs, and if a female ends up pregnant this is a hassle for the owner, whereas if a male runs off and gets a street dog pregnant they feel that this is not the owner's problem..

It is unlikely that they ever had much positive interaction with people before I found them, and Ora was shy and unsure of me, but Myra came running right up for cuddles!

Myra is one of the sweetest dogs we have in the enclosure at the moment. Easy-going, calm, and always up for cuddles, this girl is a real joy.

Myra loves people and is very affectionate. She happily greets strangers and loves getting cuddles. She also gets along very well with dogs and is friends with everyone in the enclosure.

Myra has a calm, sweet temperament and rarely gets up to trouble. She walks well on the lead and really enjoys going out for walks and exploring new places. She would love a home where she can be lazy for much of the day, but also spend lots of time going out for long walks.

As Myra grew up in the shelter, there is a lot she will need to learn in her new home, but with her stable temperament and sweet character, we know she is going to make a great companion!

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
