❄ What makes Mico special: his gorgeous furry ears!

Introducing Mico, a lovable rescue dog seeking a forever home that can provide him the safety, stability and comfort he has had to go without his whole life.

​

Mico has been in our care since the Spring of 2022. He came to us as a tiny puppy of only 3 months old. Mico was most likely born on the streets and grew up living off scraps of food and having to scavenge to survive.. Because he was unable to have a healthy diet, the lack of nutrients led to his front legs to start becoming deformed.. He also developed mange and was brought to the vets in a sad state: a scruffy, smelly little baby. His front legs were completely crooked and he struggled to walk on them. He also turned out to have Distemper. Thankfully, with a high quality diet, lots of vitamins and supplements and lots of love and care, he made a full recovery.

 

Mico grew up in the Melez shelter and has seen little of the world outside the enclosure. He is a happy, playful boy when he knows he is safe, but can be a little hesitant in new surroundings. He is making great progress in building up his self confidence though, and visitors to the shelter describe him as an easy-going dog, who happily follows your lead. While Mico may be a bit shy initially, his personality is brimming with sweetness and playfulness that is sure to win you over!

Mico is very friendly with people and happily comes up to us for a scratch on the head in the morning. He is also friendly when we have visitors in the shelter, although he can be a bit cautious around new men at first.

Mico adores other dogs and spends most of his time playing with his kennel mates. You will rarely find him alone, he is always hanging out with one of his friends! Mico would be happiest in a home with one or more other dogs, where he can feel that he belongs to a pack.

​

Although Mico grew up a little shy, he is quickly gaining confidence and now enjoys going out for walks and walks well on the lead. He is a fast learner and responds well to guidance and encouragement.

​

A calm, stable, loving home would really transform Mico's life! He has already made lots of progress in the Melez shelter, but with a loving family to guide him, we know he blossom into the happy, confident dog he deserves to be!

Mico is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
