❄ What makes Harry special: his big furry ears and paws!

Harry arrived in the Melez enclosure in September 2023. He was found on the streets in a terrible state. He had clearly been roaming the streets for a while, and his fur was all dirty and matted.. We can tell he had an owner before, but for some reason they didn't want him anymore and abandoned him, even though he had no idea how to live without people. When a young animal lover stopped to give Harry some attention, he was so happy and hopeful that he would finally be rescued, that he followed the boy the whole way home. The boy was unable to take Harry in, so he walked to the vet clinic, Harry loyally trailing behind him the whole way, and asked for help. They called us, and of course we couldn't say no to a dog who so clearly wanted to be saved.

Harry has a big presence and a big personality. Always brimming with happy, excited energy, he never fails to makes sure that he is the first dog to be greeted and get attention when we start our day in the shelter!

Despite having had to experience abandonment in the past, Harry adores people. Nothing makes him happier than being able to be close to humans and getting cuddles. He loves meeting new people and excitedly greets visitors. Harry is a social dog who also gets along well with other dogs and fits in well in the group in the shelter, but he finds some larger males stressful and may bark at them. He is friendly when meeting new dogs and really enjoys playing with the other dogs in the enclosure.

Harry is a confident dog who walks well on the lead and loves going out for walks. He is always up for an adventure and loves exploring new places and interacting with new people! Harry is very high energy and he will need plenty of exercise and physical and mental stimulation on a daily basis. Adopters with an active lifestyle, who would take Harry on lots of big walks and runs, would be a perfect fit for him.

Harry has so much love to give. His cheerful, goofy character is sure to bring lots of laughter and joy to his home. Despite all he has been through, he has a true zest for life, and he is always happy and excited to be taken along on a new adventure. All he needs is a loving family to share life's adventures with!

 

Harry is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
