❄ What makes Gemma special: Gemma is one of the most affectionate dogs in the shelter. She loves people!

We don't know much about little Gemma's past, but we think she once had a family who abandoned her on the streets. She showed up in a local animal lover's feeding area and with her social, sweet nature, she managed to get the pack of street dogs to accept her. But what she really wanted was to find a home. Desperate to be saved from the streets, she jumped into the animal lover's car, hoping to be taken home. The lady couldn't take her in, so she asked us for help.

Little Gemma absolutely adores people. All she wants is to get as many cuddles as possible! She is extremely affectionate and ecstaticly greets anyone who comes into her kennel, whether it be someone she knows or a stranger. Nothing makes her happier than getting attention! Gemma is very social when it comes to other dogs, and gets along very well with all the other dogs she shares her kennel with. She is friendly when meeting new dogs.

Gemma has a very happy personality and she is very energetic. She loves playing with her kennel mates, and bounces up and down out of excitement when she gets cuddles. Her high energy level sometimes leads to the chaotic environment in the shelter becoming a bit too much for her, and when there is too much going on and she gets too excited this leads to anxious behaviour such as nervous barking. If Gemma had a stable home, without too many stress triggers in the environment, this would enable her to be more calm and be her happy self all of the time.

Gemma loves going out for walks and exploring new places and meeting new people. She walks well on the lead and is always up for a new adventure! At 14 kg, Gemma is a perfect size for people who don't want a very small dog, but want a dog who is compact enough to easily be able to come along with them wherever they go.

Gemma will be eternally grateful to whoever adopts her: she will be so happy to be able to leave the shelter and have a family of her own, who can give her all the cuddles she so badly wants!

Gemma is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
