The Board
Melez Dog Rescue is led by a dedicated team of animal welfare advocates committed to giving stray and abandoned dogs a second chance. Our board members bring a wealth of experience in rescue work, animal care, and nonprofit management, ensuring that our mission is carried out with compassion, integrity, and efficiency.
Each board member plays a crucial role in overseeing our shelter operations, coordinating adoptions, and developing initiatives to improve the lives of the dogs in our care. With a shared passion for animal welfare, we work tirelessly to provide the best possible future for every dog that comes through our rescue.

Maaike
Secretary
I’m Maaike, a Dutch animal lover with a deep passion for rescue work. My journey with Melez Dog Rescue began in September 2023 when I spent a week at Lisanne’s shelter with a friend to help out. From the very first moment, I was hooked by the rescue mission and knew I wanted to do more for stray and abandoned animals worldwide.
Since then, I have volunteered at shelters across the globe, gaining hands-on experience and deepening my commitment to animal welfare. Alongside this, I started supporting Lisanne with social media strategy, website management, adoptions, and PR/marketing for Melez Dog Rescue.
Rescue work became even more personal when I adopted my own Melez dog, Fien, who now fills my life with love and joy. Now, as Secretary of the foundation, I am dedicated to helping grow our mission, raising awareness, and finding loving homes for as many dogs as possible.
