Story
Mars came into our care in the spring of 2024. He was only a baby when he arrived, but had already fought hard for survival. He was found alone by the side of the road, covered in mud and his own urine, with an injured leg. The people who found him hoped we could treat his leg and help him find a home, but before we could even look at it, we realised something else was wrong. We rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with Parvo, a disease that is extremely deadly for puppies as young as Mars was. We didn't have much hope for him, but after just a few days of treatment, he made a full recovery. He later underwent surgery for his leg and recovered from that quickly too. Mars has been through so much in his short life, and now he is more than ready to find a forever home where he can feel safe and loved.
Character
Mars may be small, but he has a big character. There is never a dull moment with him around, and he's always off on his next mischievous adventure. He's full of playful, youthful energy and spends most of his time running around looking for things to do. Toys are his favourite: when the dogs get playtime, Mars excitedly collects as many as he can and hides them in his corner, happily chewing his way through his prized collection. He's fine with people approaching him while he plays, but doesn't love sharing his toys with other dogs. When there are no toys around, he'll play with the other dogs or splash about in the paddling pools, which might just be his favourite thing in the world. We think he's going to love swimming.
