❄ What makes Zazu unique: Zazu is a small dog with a big personality, and she is the princess of the enclosure!
Zazu came into our care in the spring of 2025. This poor girl probably had an owner, but they abandoned her and chose to leave her to fend for herself. Since she is far too small to take care of herself and was not used to life as a stray dog, she had a very difficult time and became increasingly thin and weak. When we found her, she was covered in dirt and was skin and bones... But to make matters worse, she contracted distemper, and in one fell swoop, her life as a dog with a home and a family collapsed, and suddenly she was a stray dog who had to fight for her life... Fortunately, Zazu survived and turned into a beautiful, healthy, happy dog!
Zazu is the princess of the enclosure! She is a very sweet dog who charms everyone, but she is also a real diva!
Zazu is a gentle, sensitive dog who is certainly not suited to the harsh life on the streets. She is happiest when she has a nice soft bed and peace and quiet around her.
Zazu loves people and is a real cuddler. She greets everyone she sees with great enthusiasm and can't wait to jump on your lap for a long cuddle. She even does a little dance of excitement when visitors come to the shelter!
She gets along wonderfully with children and is always gentle and kind with them. Sweet and submissive with people, Zazu craves affection and loves being close to those she trusts. Very occasionally, she may bark at a man she sees in the distance, but as soon as he comes closer, her tail starts wagging and she turns into her usual friendly self.
Zazu isn’t completely at ease around other dogs and tends to ignore them when she can. When she meets new dogs, she prefers to keep her distance at first. At the shelter, she can bark loudly if another dog walks past her kennel, simply because she’s nervous. However, once she gets used to another dog, she secretly enjoys their company and can play beautifully with them.
Sharing, though, is not her favorite thing. Whether it’s food or toys, Zazu prefers to keep her treasures to herself. She does get along very well with cats, but even they aren’t allowed to touch her toys.
Playtime is when Zazu truly shines. She can spend hours tossing her toys into the air and chasing them with joy. She’s a cheerful, lively little dog who loves to have fun and enjoy life.
Zazu walks perfectly on the lead and loves to go for strolls, runs, or playful adventures. She’s confident, curious, and not easily frightened, so she’s a wonderful companion to take to new places.
That said, you don’t need to be constantly on the move to make her happy. Zazu also loves her quiet moments. She’ll find a cozy spot in her basket, curl up comfortably, and enjoy a lazy day, simply relaxing and watching the world go by.
In short: If you’re looking for an incredibly sweet, fun, and affectionate dog who will fill your days with love and joy, Zazu might be the one for you. All she needs is a calm home, a soft basket, and someone who loves cuddles as much as she does.
Come and meet Zazu. She will be endlessly grateful to leave the busy shelter behind and start her new life in a loving home.
Zazu is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/United Kingdom.
Our dogs arrive microchipped, up to date on rabies and combination vaccines, spayed/neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated, and tested for heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania, and Anaplasma.
Before travelling, they see a vet for a final health check. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-rays are taken of any potential problem areas. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated to you beforehand.
