❄ What makes Tina special: her almost completely symmetrical black and white face
Tina came into our care in the winter of 2023.
Little Tina also came to us from the government shelter in Nigde, a city in central Turkey, which is a very difficult place to live for dogs. The people in this part of Turkey are known to have little sympathy for dogs, and to see strays as pests. Street dogs are shunned and are treated unkindly. To make things even worse for the poor dogs, Nigde experiences extremely cold winters, with freezing temperatures and lots of snow all through the winter. The poor strays there don't stand a chance..
Tina had a family before, and had just been abandoned when a local rescuer found her in the shelter. Tina was so depressed, that she was refusing to eat.. Knowing that no-one locally would adopt her, the rescuer asked if Tina could come to us.
Tina is a sweet little girl with a happy personality. She loves people and is very affectionate. Once she gets to know you, all she wants is non-stop cuddles and attention! She loves being able to sit on your lap getting lots of pets. When meeting strangers, she is excited, but a bit nervous. When approached by new people, she will display submissive behaviour due to her nerves, but once she has had calm introductions, she bounces straight into happy "love me" mode!
Tina doesn't get along as well with other animals. She doesn't like cats and is selective with other dogs. She has two best friends in her kennel, and she will share her bed with them and enjoys playing with them, but she tries to avoid all other dogs and may bark if she sees a large dog from far away.
Going out for walks is Tina's favourite activity! She loves going out to explore new places and sniff all the new smells. She isn't scared of passing by cars, but may get jumpy at unexpected sounds and movements.
Tina would thrive in a calm home with experienced adopters and a stable routine. With some love and patience, we know Tina will blossom into the happiest dog in the world!
Tina is currently in Turkey, and is ready to travel to the EU / the UK.
Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
