❄ What makes Terry special: this charming older boy has the most adorable white snout!
Terry came into our care in January 2025.
Terry is one of our latest government shelter rescues. Because of the 'Massacre Law', municipalities are now required to round up all street dogs and bring them to government shelters, even though the government shelters are already over capacity and aren't ready for this huge influx of new dogs. The poor dogs are crammed into crowded kennels, with barely any space for themselves. The kennels are so full that there is no way to monitor the well-being of any individual dog, and the weaker dogs fade into the background. Unable to defend themselves, the weak and scared dogs don't get access to food or any care and slowly by surely, they get thinner and thinner and weaker and weaker..
This is exactly what happened to poor Terry, a tiny, older little boy, who had no way of standing up for himself in his crowded kennel with younger, stronger dogs. Unable to eat and constantly overlooked, he was wasting away..
When we spotted him, we knew we couldn't leave him behind!
Despite everything he has been through, Terry is still a happy little boy. He is so grateful to be saved and shows us how thankful he is by giving us lots of kisses and cuddles!
You won't find a dog who loves people more than Terry. He adores humans and he lights up when he gets to meet new people! In general, Terry is has a pretty calm nature, but when visitors come into his kennel, or he gets taken out of his kennel to interact with new people, he gets so excited he becomes a little hyper! He craves human interaction so badly... When he gets to interact with people, his little tail starts wagging non-stop and he excitedly bounces about around you. Sitting on your lap is Terry's favourite thing in this world and he is constantly trying to get into your arms. Terry is equally excited to see both men and women, and both strangers and people he knows. As long as he gets to spend time with people - Terry is happy!
Terry is much more focused on humans than on other dogs. He is neutral towards other dogs and doesn't interact with them too much, but he is friendly if approached by another dog.
Terry is a confident dog who walks well on the lead and likes going to new places. He isn't easily startled and doesn't mind visiting busy areas.
Although he gets very energetic out of excitement when he sees people, in general Terry is a medium energy dog, who doesn't need hours of running. He would love to be able to go on nice walks and then cuddle up on the sofa with his family.
Terry will be a real companion to whoever adopts him. This loving boy will be the most grateful dog in the world to be adopted!
Terry is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/UK.
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
