❄ What makes Teddy special: Teddy has the most adorable smile!

Little Teddy is the cutest, scruffiest little ball of fluff, and yet he was unwanted... We don't know anything about his past, just that he was found on the streets alone. He had no-one to look after him, and had no way of surviving by himself.

All that has changed now! Teddy is now safe in to the Melez enclosure, and is ready to find his forever home!

Teddy is an endearing little dog, and he is a real sweetheart. But he is also very sensitive and can be quite insecure. For him, the world is a big, scary place...

Teddy easily feels intimidated by new things, and quickly loses his confidence when he encounters new situations.

But when he feels safe and comfortable, Teddy is an incredibly cheerful and playful boy. He loves rolling around on the ground and spends lots of time playing with the other dogs in his kennel.

One of Teddy's best skills is looking and acting cute to get attention. He knows exactly how to charm you to get the cuddles and belly rubs he wants!

Teddy is trainable: It took a while, but after much encouragement he has recently learned to walk on a lead. He does this very well now, but if something scares him, he immediately lies flat on the ground, or he tries to go back to hide.

At the moment, he can only handle quiet environments; busy areas are too scary for him. He does show interest in the outside world and would love to be able to explore more, but he is simply too scared at the moment, and he will need to build up his self-confidence first. The world is still so big for him, and as a small dog, everything can feel so scary!

Teddy also often feels intimidatd by other dogs. Fortunately, he has many good friends at the shelter. He gets along particularly well with calm dogs.

Teddy really enjoys playing with other dogs, but he must first feel comfortable and be able to trust the other dog, before he lets his guard down.

He generally finds new dogs scary, and behaves very submissively around them.

He gets along better with female dogs than with male dogs, and does not feel comfortable around dominant dogs.

Teddy has trouble being alone. As long as he is in the kennel with other dogs or with a human, there is no problem and he is at ease. But if he can see or hear you but you are not with him, he panics and tries everything he can to escape and come to you. This is something his adopters will need to work on with him.

He really likes people, and he always comes to get cuddles with great enthusiasm. Belly rubs are his favourite! But if you make an unexpected, sudden movement, his insecurity comes back, and he gets scared and tries to hide. So he will also need help to build up more trust towards humans.

In short: Teddy is a gentle, sensitive little dog who has the potential to become a very fun, cheerful, playful dog.

His adopters will need to have a lot of patience and create a very calm, stable environment for him. From there, he can learn to feel safe so that he can build the self-confidence to face the world. Would you like to help him with this? Then he would love to come live with you, and you will experience what a sweetheart Teddy is.

Teddy is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
