❄ What makes Mochi special: Her shiny black beady eyes, which she uses to give you the sweetest looks to ask for cuddles!

Mochi was one of our first government shelter rescues after the 'Massacre Law' came into effect in the summer of 2024. Due to severe overcrowding, she was having to share a kennel with a group of large dogs, and she was absolutely terrified. We couldn't leave her like that, so we took her back to the Melez enclosure with us!

Mochi is a sweet, quiet little girl who is very shy at first, but has so much love to give!

Unfortunately we don't know anything about Mochi's past, and whether she had a family before, but she is so loving and loyal towards the people she trusts! Strangers make her nervous, and it takes a while for her to trust people. When visitors come in to the enclosure, she will try to hide and avoid interaction at first. She may bark at men she doesn't know. After polite introductions (and some bribes with treats) she starts to warm up and will soon let visitors pet her. Once she trusts you completely, Mochi is the most affectionate dog! She loves getting cuddles and sitting on your lap. She will follow you around and give you quiet, polite nudges with her nose to ask for attention, and stare at you with her beady eyes to try to get you to pick her up for some cuddles. She is very loyal and builds strong bonds with the people she loves.

When it comes to interacting with other dogs, Mochi is pretty neutral. She fits in well in the group in her kennel, and gets along with all her kennel-mates, but rarely interacts with the other dogs and usually keeps to herself. Occassionally, she will play with one or two dogs, but for the most part she can be found on top of the dog houses by herself, watching what is going on around the enclosure. She doesn't like sharing attention with the other dogs, and will try to chase the other dogs away when she is on your lap. When new dogs come in to her kennel, she quickly and politely greets them, and then goes back to her look-out spot. When she comes across new dogs when out for a walk, she can be insecure and she will try to avoid interaction with large dogs.

Mochi is pretty confident when out for walks. She walks well on a lead and doesn't pull. She enjoys going out to explore new places and isn't startled by sounds or traffic. She doesn't mind passers-by, as long as they don't try to pet her.

Mochi would be very happy in a calm, quiet household, with a patient adopter who can give her the stability and guidance she needs to feel safe. She will be the most loyal companion and will be so grateful to whoever adopts her!

Mochi is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
