❄ What makes Milan special: Milan was hit by a car when he was living on the streets, and as a result he has bad hips and back legs. But this doesn't stop him happily going for walks!

Milan came into our care in the winter of 2023. He is a senior boy who was found wandering the streets around the ruins of some ancient Greek ruins in a tourist town. An animal lover spotted him and seeing how old and fragile he was, they knew he wouldn't be able to survive on the streets. Milan turned out to have anemia, caused by active Ehrlichia, and an old break in one of his hip bones. He was treated for Ehrlichia, but the vet felt that he was too old and fragile to be able to undergo surgery for his hip. Luckily the break isn't severe, and he is still able to use his leg. He does have arthritis in both his back legs however, and would benefit from supplements and pain management.

We don't know how long he had been wandering the streets alone with his injury, but it's a miracle he had been ableto survive until he was found..

Milan is a sweet, calm boy who would be the perfect addition to a quiet household. As a senior dog, life in the Melez enclosure is tough for Milan, and he would be so happy to be able to live in a more comfortable, calm environment.

Milan is one of the most loyal dogs you will ever meet. He forms strong bonds with his people and never strays far from them. On his daily walks, we are able to let him roam freely outside of the enclosure, and he follows us around everywhere. If we stop for a break he will come straight over and contently lie by our feet. He may bark initially when he sees new people approach his kennel, but he is very friendly with everyone who pets him and takes him for a walk and loves getting attention from them.

Going for walks is Milan's favourite thing in the world. Although he is unable to go on very long walks due to his arthritis, he loves going around getting so sniff all the new smells. He is confident when out of the enclosure and isn't easily startled by sudden movements, sounds, or passers-by. He walks well on the lead.

After he has had his daily walk, Milan loves lying on a comfortable blanket calmly watching the world go by. He spends most of his time in his bed keeping an eye on everything that happens in the enclosure. He also really enjoys getting chew sticks and passing the time chewing on his latest treat in his bed. He doesn't play with toys.

Milan is neutral towards cats, but isn't fond of other dogs. He isn't reactive when he sees other dogs, and tries to ignore them, but he doesn't like having to share his space with other dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in a quiet household. He shares his kennel with other dogs without issues, but he would be happier without other dogs around.

Milan is a sweet, gentle soul, who so deserves to live his golden years in a happy, comfortable home, with his very own family. Could you be the one to give Milan the peaceful retirement years he so deserves?

Milan is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK

Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
