❄ What makes Lenny special: His beautiful black, white and brown colouring
We took Lenny in in the summer of 2024 when Turkey's new 'massacre law' came into effect. Since the new law has come out, dogs are being rounded up and brought to government shelters, where the majority of them will stay stuck in overcrowded kennels until they die.. Overcrowding, starvation, disease and fights amongst the dogs are already big issues in the shelters, and all of this is only getting worse and worse..
Lenny was one of those dogs who was stuck in the local government shelter with no hope of a happy future. For the past few months, whenever we visited the government shelter, we saw him happily running up to the fence of his kennel, full of hope that he was finally going to be taken out and get adopted, but no-one wanted him.. Knowing that his kennel was going to get more and more crowded, and life was going to get more and more difficult for him , we decided we couldn't leave him there..
Lenny is a wonderful dog with a beautiful temperament and a cheerful character. He is a very easy-going, social dog who adapts well to new environments.
Lenny is a very friendly dog who gets along with everyone he meets. He politely greets new dogs and is friends with all the dogs in his kennel. He gets along well with both small and large dogs and especially likes energetic dogs, who can match his playful energy. The spends hours running around his kennel playing with his kennel mates.
We don't know anything about Lenny's past and whether he had a family before, but we do know that he loves people! He is always excited to meet new people and greets all visitors enthusiastically. He is very cuddly and loves getting lots of pets and attention. Even at the vet's, he is happy and friendly with everyone, and lets himself be handled easily. He likes both men and women and can be tested with children.
Outside of the enclosure, Lenny is confident and walks well on the lead, although he may pull on the lead in his enthusiasm to go out and explore. He is quite strong and will need a confident handler to learn to walk more calmly even when he is excited. Lenny loves going for walks and isn't scared of going to new or busy places. He is an energetic dog who needs lots of opportunity to walk, run and play on a daily basis. A family with an active lifestyle would be a great match for him.
This sweet boy is full of life and so deserves to be able to leave his kennel and live in a happy home..
Lenny is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/the UK
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
