❄ What makes Kuno special: his white nose and socks!
We rescued Kuno from the government shelter in the spring of 2025. Kuno is such a gentle, soft-natured boy, and there is no way he would have been able to survive in the shelter for much longer. He was stuck in a crowded kennel with large, dominant dogs. When we walked past, he came straight up to the fence and desperately pushed his nose out towards us, begging to be saved. We couldn't leave him behind!
Although he is now safe, as a sensitive, quiet dog, Kuno does struggle in the busy Melez enclosure. Because he is so unhappy in his kennel, he gets to go out and spend some time outside every day. Every morning, he is happily waiting for us by the door of his kennel, ready to be let out. At the end of the day he obediently trots back into his kennel. Kuno is extremely well-behaved and never makes a fuss. He is quiet and easy-going and doesn't need much: just some peace and quiet and lots of pets! He walks well on a lead and enjoys being out in nature. He doesn't need lots of exercise, but enjoys calmly strolling around sniffing all the plants. He also loves digging himself holes to snooze in!
Kuno adores people and is extremely affectionate. He loves getting belly rubs and shows everyone he meets his belly! Kuno is friendly towards everyone, and gets along with both men and women, and both strangers and people he knows. He is also very good with children.
Other dogs make Kuno nervous and he prefers to be left alone by them. He currently shares a kennel with multiple other dogs and lives together with them without issues, but he avoids interacting with them. So far we have only seen Kuno play with one other dog. Kuno shows no interest in meeting new dogs and tries to ignore them. He is neutral towards cats and doesn't mind being around them.
Kuno is such a sweet, gentle soul and it is heartbreaking that this sensitive boy has had to go through so much in his life. He is so well-behaved and doesn't ask for much: all he wants is a calm quiet life and someone to love him!

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
