❄ What makes Jones special: his unique brown and black markings!
Jones came into our care in the summer of 2024.
We don't know how long Jones has been roaming on the streets, but it is clear that he had been struggling and was desperate for a safe place to call home. He showed up in front of a local student dormitory last year and after being treated kindly by some animal loving students, he never left. He was so happy to finally have somewhere where he thought he was safe! He spent a few happy months there, but unfortunately he wasn't allowed to stay. The dormitory staff and management didn't want him there, and threatened to remove him. The students tried to find a home for him in Turkey, but when no-one wanted him, they asked me for help.
Jones is a sweet, happy little boy who just wants to play and get cuddles! He has an old injury in one of his back legs from where his leg was broken before (most likely from being hit by a car when he was living on the streets), for which he underwent surgery, and his leg has now healed completely. Very occassionally, he holds his leg at a slightly different angle, most of the time you would never know he was ever injured! He is able to walk, run and play without pain.
Jones is such a sweet, cuddly boy. He is very affectionate and so desperately wants a family to love!
Despite being unwanted when he was living on the streets, Jones adores people. He happily greets both strangers and people he knows, and is social towards both men and women. Whenever someone comes in to his kennel, he will be front of the queue, sitting by their feet, giving them his cutest looks to try to get as many cuddles as he can! When we have visitors in the enclosure, he doesn't leave their side, always hoping for one extra pet.. He is always very unhappy when we leave his kennel, and clings to our legs begging us to stay.
Although he loves everyone who is nice to him, if Jones finds someone intimidating, he may bark at them, so his family will have to make sure he gets lots of reassurance to help him feel safe in situations where people may scare him.
Jones is a social dog who gets along well with the other dogs in his kennel and is friendly when meeting new dogs. He loves running around the enclosure and playing with his kennel mates. He prefers females over other males and would be happy living with another female dog, or as the only dog in the home.
Jones walks well on the lead and is happy to go out for walks. He isn't used to busy environments, so he will need time, patience and guidance from his adopters to learn to feel safe in places with lots of noise and traffic. Jones is a medium energy dog who likes being active and running and playing, but is calm and easy-going in his general behaviour and also enjoys nap and cuddle time.
This beautiful boy has so much love to give, and with proper guidance to help him feel safe and settle in to his new life, we know he will be the happiest dog there is!
Jones is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
