❄ What makes Ginger special: her big ears!
Ginger came into our care in the spring of 2024.
Poor Ginger was found on the streets in a terrible state.. She was very malnourished, and was covered in ticks. It looks like she was involved in some kind of accident in which her tail was completely torn off.. She was left wandering the streets with a stump of a tail with an open wound on the end. She was also bleeding from her mouth. She also had Ehrlichia, which was causing severe anemia. The anemia was making poor Ginger feel very weak and unwell.. She wouldn't have lasted much longer on the streets if she hadn't been found..
Luckily, Ehrlichia is easily treated, so Ginger made a full recovery!
Ginger is a sweet, loving girl who feels happiest in calm environments and is easily stressed. Life in the crowded Melez enclosure is very difficult for her.
Ginger loves people and she craves lots of attention and affection. She is very loyal and tries to stay close to her people. She is very friendly when meeting new people and quickly comes to ask for some cuddles. Children make her nervous, and she tries to avoid interacting with them.
She is less enthusiastic when it comes to other dogs. She is friendly when greeting new dogs, but is very picky about which dogs she wants to be friends with. She loves running around the enclosure playing with her friends, but having to share her living space with any dogs she isn't friends with makes her uncomfortable.
Outside of the enclosure, Ginger is easy-going and confident in quiet areas, and walks well on the lead. She really enjoys going for walks and being out and about.
Although she is generally a happy girl, Ginger is a sensitive dog and she is easily stressed. Too much chaos and noise make her nervous and she is easily intimidated. Ginger would thrive in a calm, quiet home with a stable daily routine and lots of cuddle time with her family. She would be so happy to have a family of her own!
Ginger is currently in Turkey and is available for adoption in the UK and the EU.
Our dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
