❄ What makes Enzo special: Enzo is blind in one eye and has a small tic in one of his back legs, a result of having overcome Distemper when he was younger

Enzo was found on the streets in a local rescuer's feeding zone, where they go to feed the packs of streetdogs that live on the outskirts of the city. We don't know if Enzo was abandoned here, or whether he has always been a stray and he found his way to this pack himself. He had shown up amongst a group of large strays, who are very territorial and have been known to harm smaller dogs that try to live in their territory before.. Knowing that Enzo wouldn't be safe here, the rescuer asked me if I could take him in.

Who knows what poor Enzo has been through before he came to us.. We can tell that he once had Distemper, and managed to survive all by himself, but was left with a tic in one of his back legs. He is also blind in one eye, caused by severe damage to the eye itself, something which unfortunately cannot be treated, but doesn't cause him any discomfort.

Despite all he has been through, Enzo is a happy, affectionate dog. He absolutely loves people and is very cuddly. He will squeeze in between your legs when you're not paying him attention to try to get some cuddles! He also likes playing with people and loves doing crazy, excited runs to and from you. Enzo is very friendly with new people and trusts strangers straight away. He is easy-going and will let anyone take him out for a walk (as long as there is cuddles involved!). He is a confident dog who isn't easily scared. He loves going for walks and exploring new places.

Enzo is friendly towards most other dogs, but clearly prefers the company of humans. He doesn't show any food aggression or resource guarding towards the dogs he shares his kennel with, but generally tries to ignore other dogs. Large dogs make Enzo very stressed and he may bark at them.

Enzo is blind in one eye. This is due to damage caused to the lens by a blow to the head. Most likely he was hit by people when he was living on the streets.. The lens has been damaged and dislocated and unfortunately can't be recovered. Thankfully his other eye is healthy and he can still see with this eye. Although his blind eye doesn't cause him discomfort, he is sensitive when it comes to his 'blind spot' and can get startled when you approach him form his blind side. He doesn't like people touching his bad eye, but he doesn't show any aggression either.

Enzo has been through a lot in life so far, and the hardships he has been through have left their mark on his body, but not on his soul! This happy, sweet boy would love to be able to leave the shelter and have a family of his own. Could you offer him the forever home he so deserves?

Enzo is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
