❄ What makes Buddy special: Buddy looks like a Golden Retriever on short legs!

Buddy arrived in our care in the winter of 2023. He was found on the streets by the side of a busy road by an animal lover. Realising he wasn't safe, they brought him to us. Unfortunately, Buddy turned out to have Distemper, but he made a full recovery and is now a happy, healthy boy who is ready to find his forever home!

Buddy is a sweet dog who is generally very easy-going. He has a cheerful disposition, walks well on the lead, listens well, is confident when out for walks and loves going out to explore! Buddy loves his walks and excitedly trots around sniffing all the new smells. He can sometimes pull on the lead in his excitement. He is very playful and enjoys playing with toys and with other dogs.

Buddy is very friendly and loves getting attention and cuddles. He is one of the first dogs to greet us every morning, and excitedly runs up to say hello. He loves having visitors in his kennel and tries to get as many cuddle as he can from whoever comes to visit! Outside of the enclosure, he also greets strangers enthusiastically, but he can be slightly nervous and is prone to being scared by sudden movements towards him.

Buddy gets along well with the other dogs in his kennel, and spends much of his time playing with them. He likes to play rough, so would prefer confident and active play mates.

Because Buddy has such a happy personality, and is generally confident and easy-going, it is easy to miss small stress signals he may give off when he is feeling uncomfortable. His enthusiastic manner can sometimes mask moments of nervousness. Buddy would thrive in a stable home with experienced adopters, who can read his body language and make sure that he doesn't exceed his stress threshold in his excitement to go out and explore the world!

Buddy is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in the Netherlands microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
