❄ What makes Ami special: her expressive, smiley face!
Ami was one of our first government shelter rescues after the new 'Massacre Law' came into effect. We don't know anything about her past, but we do know that she had been struggling for a while.. This poor girl was completely unable to fend for herself and was getting weaker and weaker without proper care. She developed mange and became a walking skeleton due to malnutrition.. Thankfully it only took some loving care and plenty of food for her to transform into a healthy dog!
Ami is one of the sweetest, most cheerful dogs in the Melez enclosure. Always happy and excited to say hello, she is a little ray of sunshine in the crowded enclosure!
When Ami gets extra excited, (when she really wants cuddles, or when she realises she is about to be taken out for a walk) Ami does a little happy dance and howls out of excitement! She loves being taken out for walks and happily prances around on the lead. She is very confident when out of the enclosure and isn't easily startled by noises, traffic, or strangers, but she does sometimes pull on the lead out of excitement. She loves exploring and would love to be able to go on long walks with her family. Ami is an energetic dog with a playful side, and she needs plenty of opportunity every day to exercise and play. She would be a good match for a family with an active lifestyle, who like to involve their dog in outdoor activities.
Ami adores people and nothing makes her happier than having people come in to her kennel to give her attention. She is very friendly towards both people she knows and strangers. She is very affectionate and likes having lots of interaction with people, although in her excitement she rarely sits still enough for a proper cuddle!
Ami is a very social dog who gets along well with dogs of all sizes. She is friends with all the other dogs in her kennel and loves playing with her kennel mates. She is excited to meet new dogs and happily greets dogs she sees on the street. Ami would do well in a home with other dogs, but would also be happy as an only dog.
This special girl deserves a very special home. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky!
Ami is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.
The dogs arrive in the Netherlands microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
